All that culture fuels the craving and at times the entire city seems to be out to lunch (or dinner). Thousands of restaurants suggest an incredible palette for the palate: traditional Catalan cooking, 21st-century nueva cocina espanola kookiness and everything in between. A plethora of tippling establishments and dance clubs also spreads in a hedonistic arc across the whole city. Drop into old-school coctelerias or glam it up in bright new seaside bars. Shoppers, meanwhile, may never create it to a museum. Phalanxes of pleasing one-off establishments compete with armies of global-brand-name stores.

Culture, cuisine and obvious consumption aside, Barcelona is a city built for outdoor fun: just follow the locals lead. On the waterfront, rollerblades glide past domino-playing pensioners, sun-seekers, windsurfers and sailors. Skateboarders practice their art in motion outside the Macba, temple to contemporary creation, and mountain-bikers blaze trails in the Collserola Park. Barcelona is an exciting ride.

The Hotel Diagonal Zero in Barcelona is a 4-star deluxe hotel situated right in front of the International Convention Center (CCIB), next to the new Forum Marina and beaches, and 100 meters from shopping center Diagonal Mar, surrounded by a green residential and business district.

The Hotel Diagonal Zero is situated next to public transport to downtown and to the airport and well connect by road. Each of the 262 bedrooms (Deluxe, Executives, Jacuzzi Suites and Suites) are soundproofed and prepared with air conditioning and free high speed Internet access. Most of the rooms feature spectacular views to the Mediterranean Sea, and all of them come with the most recent state of the art technology.

The Hotel Diagonal Zero also provides the 15th Lounge which offers elite hospitality lounge for guests reserving Executive Rooms, Suites and Jacuzzi Suites, and includes dedicated services as concierge, Internet corner, free drinks and snacks, national and international newspaper and magazines. The Cocktail Bar is an elegant outdoor chill-out terrace for coffee breaks and cocktails. Panoramic Outdoor Pool and Solarium deck on the 17th floor overlooking the sea and much more. Full equipped Gym and Fitness, SPA & Wellness Center with all type of personal treatments. Pets are allowed at a surcharge of EUR 10 per night.

The Hotel H10 Montcada has many outstanding services and amenities such as a welcome drink and luggage service, viewpoint: on the 9th floor, offering splendid views of the whole city, free solarium, gym and outdoor Jacuzzi, free Internet corner, excellent buffet breakfast service, lobby bar, room service (limited hours), fresh flowers and a free in every room.

This hotel is division of the H10 hotel chain and has 79 rooms for guests. H10 Montcada Barcelona offers all of the comforts and facilities expected from a four-star hotel, making it a good choice for both tourists and business travelers both. A few luxurious details value mentioning are the roof-top Jacuzzi with gorgeous views around the beautiful Barcelona old city center and the large solarium which, considering the local climate can be something guests of the H10 Barcelona Montcada look forward to at the end of the day.

There is no doubt that Tenerife is one of the most famous of the holiday islands and Tenerife holidays are extremely popular with everyone from sun-worshippers to watersport fanatics.

Tenerife has all-year round sunshine and the gently shelving beaches and calm waters make it very popular with families, party-goers and couples alike. Only a four-hour flight from the UK, Tenerife has a huge range of resorts to choose from.
One of the most popular and sophisticated resorts in Tenerife is Los Cristianos that caters for all types of travellers. It is built around an old fishing village and benefits from a year-round Spring-like climate and endless hours of guaranteed sunshine. The signature sandy beach at Los Cristianos is Playa de Los Cristianos – a sweeping stretch of sand that has endless space to spread your towel out and relax.

Los Cristianos holidays tend to be more laidback and less bustling than if you stay at neighbouring Playa de las Americas, but this does not mean there is a shortage of partying opportunities! There is a vibrant nightlife scene with an extensive choice of bars, clubs and cafes that makes the resort popular with younger travellers in search of fun in the evenings.

During the day there are also many choices apart from lazing on the beach or around the pool, with some great local markets if you fancy haggling for souvenir bargains, as well as excursions that will take you further afield to explore Santa Cruz – Tenerife’s capital. Or, venture out to sea on one of the whale-watching trips from Los Cristianos. There are also waterparks such as Aqualand and Siam Park with dolphin shows, waterfalls, surf parks and white-knuckle rides.
So, Tenerife breaks have something for everyone – an excellent chance to get away from it all and recharge your batteries!

I’m truly livin la vida loca! Spain is such as beautiful country that I could never get enough. I travel a lot often to better understand the people and the culture and I have been living a life of bliss since I moved here 5 years ago.

España, as it is locally known, or the Kingdom of Spain, as it is officially known, is located in the southwestern part of Europe. It is a member of the European Union, therefore it uses the common Euro currency. Spain’s parliamentary government is democratic and is under a constitutional monarchy. It is one of the developed country in the world and is the 9th (or 10th) in the largest economies of the world based on nominal GDP and according to the World Bank. Spain’s people are so diverse and unique that they have distinct cultural groups. Among the different nationalities include the Basques, Castilians, Catalans, Galicians and more.

Spain’s languages are as distinct as its people although the main official language is Spanish (Castillian). Spain’s culture is multi-diverse which arose from it varied influences over the years. The Spanish culture thus has originated from Iberian, Latin, Celtiberian, Roman Catholic, Visigothic and Islamic cultures.

As expat Spain has taught me many things when I travel. When you are planning to travel to Spain, whether it’s temporary visit or permanent transfer, you have to first see to it that you have the necessary travel documents with you. Your VISA is most important so that you can enter the country without any problem. If you have a work permit, bring it with you as well. These are the most important documents that you cannot do without. Another important point, especially for those who are moving to Spain for a longer and more permanent stay, determine also if the current house you are living in your home-country will be rented out or sold. Furthermore, check if your insurance company will continue its coverage for your life insurance if something happens to you in Spain.

Other things to consider are the following:
•	If you have a child with you in your permanent move, education in Spain is compulsory from 6 to 16 years old. You may want to enroll your child in a nearby school. It is offered as free education, so you never get to worry about tuition fees anymore.
•	If you are touring all over the country, Spain boasts 40 UNESCO World Heritage sites that you might want to explore. Spend more than just a week to cover all these so that you could maximize learning about the country’s culture and people.
•	A majority of Spaniards is Roman Catholic Christians and churches are found everywhere where you may be able to join church services on Sundays. The second religion that is growing in numbers in Spain is Islam.
•	Spanish architecture and arts are truly beautiful to behold. Spanish artists were highly influenced during the European artistic movements over the years. Cinematic art has also gained worldwide recognition especially the movie, Pan’s Labyrinth, which was recognized in Hollywood’s OSCARS awards ceremonies.

Barcelona is recognized as a global city because of its importance in finance, commerce, media, entertainment, arts and international trade. Barcelona is a most important economic centre with one of Europe’s principal Mediterranean ports, and Barcelona International Airport is the second largest in Spain after the Madrid-Barajas Airport (handles about 30 million passengers per year). Founded as a Roman city, Barcelona became the head of the Counts of Barcelona. Later than merging with the Kingdom of Aragon, it became one of the most important cities of the Crown of Aragon. Besieged numerous times during its history, Barcelona is today an important cultural centre and a major tourist destination and has a rich cultural heritage. Principally renowned are architectural works of Antoni Gaudí and Lluís Domenech i Montaner that have been designated UNESCO World Heritage Sites. The city is healthy known in recent times for the 1992 Summer Olympics. The headquarters of the Union for the Mediterranean are situated in Barcelona.

Barcelona includes 68 municipal parks, divided into 12 historic parks, 5 thematic (botanical) parks, 45 urban parks and 6 forest parks. They vary from vest-pocket parks to large recreation areas. The urban parks only cover 10% of the city (549.7ha/1,358.3acres). The total park plane grows about 10 ha (25 acres) per year, with a proportion of 18.1 square meters (195 sq ft) of park area per inhabitant.

Of Barcelona’s parks, Montjuic is the largest, with 203 ha located on the mountain of the same name. It is next by Ciutadella Park (situated in the place of the old military citadel and which houses the Parliament building, the zoo and several museums; 31 ha/76.6acres including the zoo), the Guajardo Park (19 ha/47.0acres). Barcelona has 7 beaches, totaling 4.5km (2.8mi) of coastline. Sant Sebastian and Barceloneta beaches, both 1,100 m (3,610 ft) in length, are the largest, oldest and the most frequented beaches in Barcelona. The Olympic port separates them from the further city beaches: Nova Icaria, Bogatell, Mar Bella, Nova Mar Bella and Llevant. These beaches (ranging from 400 to 640 m/1,300 to 2,100 ft) are opened as a result of the city restructuring to host the 1992 Summer Olympics, when a great number of industrial buildings were demolished. At present, the beach sand is replenished from quarries known that storms regularly remove large quantities of material. The 2004 Universal Forum of Cultures left the city a big concrete bathing zone on the east most part of the city’s coastline.

The Hotel Arts is a 39-story, 600 room comfort hotel on the seafront of Barcelona, in Spain. Opposing to popular belief, it was not built to service the 1992 Summer Olympics, though its construction was part of the big changes underwent by the city to prepare the Games. It remains one of the city’s most important hotels. This hotel is operated by the Ritz-Carlton hotel chain. Building was finished in 1994 and it is an example of High-tech architecture. The hotel was designed by Skidmore, Owings & Merrill and is 154 meters tall. The hotel underwent a whole renovation in 2006, installing new technology and upgrading the rooms and bathrooms into modern, luxurious spaces.

Avinguda Diagonal is the forename of one of Barcelona’s most important avenues. It separates the city in two, diagonally from west to east, hence the name. It was initially projected by engineer and urban planner Ildefons Cerda as one of the city’s wide avenues, which along with Avinguda Meridiana would cut the rationalist grid he designed for l’Eixample. Both would meet at Placa de les Glories Catalanes, which Cerda envisioned as the new city centre. On the other hand, Placa Catalunya, occupying a more privileged position in the urban area would finally become the centre. The avenue starts in the Sant Martí district, next to Ronda del Litoral, bordering Sant Adria de Besos, and crosses the city finally meeting the Lleida-Madrid highway and Ronda de Dalt, by Esplugues de Llobregat, in Les Corts. It’s constantly 50 m wide and about 11 km long.

The Pavilion was not only a pioneer for building forms with a fresh, disciplined understanding of space, but also for modeling new opportunities for an exciting association of free art and architecture. Mies placed Georg Kolbe’s Morgen (“Morning”) in the little water basin, leaving the larger one all the more empty. The statue also ties into the highly reflective materials Mies used—he chose the place where these optical effects would have the strongest impact; the building offers multiple views of Morgen “From now on, in the sense of parity for juxtaposing building and visual work, statues were no longer to be applied with hindsight to the building, but rather to be a part of the spatial design, to help define and interpret it. To the day, one of the most eminent examples is the Barcelona Pavilion”.

Barcelona’s attractions and places you should not miss are described in the sections devoted to Visits, Nightlife, Restaurants and Shopping, while other useful information are available in the sections about Events, Excursions, Flights, Transports and Map. In the Hotel over 350 hotels are offered at the best available prices. The best areas of Barcelona for choosing your hotel is Ramblas: the famous tree-lined street of Barcelona goes through the centre of the city from Catalunya square to the sea. Gothic: the good-looking medieval district of Barcelona is an ideal solution for the choice of your hotel because of its situation in the centre of the city. Sea Front: it is good choices for those who want to combine the visit of the city with some relax on the beach, or also just to enjoy the view of the sea. Born: today it is the most stylish district of Barcelona. Strategically situated between the Gothic District and the Sea Front it boasts beautiful medieval buildings, the Picasso museum and a lively nightlife.

The Eixample district was built at the start of the ‘900 during the modernist period, when Barcelona experienced an economic and artistic boom. It is in this district that all Gaudi’s masterpieces, including La Pedrera, Casa Battlo and the Sagrada Familia, are located. Its major street, Passeig de Gracia, is the most popular shopping area of the city.

Compact Barcelona is an intense, fiery star lapped by the Mediterranean, a magnet to everyone from art-loving beach bums to business execs with a weakness for sunny downtime. It’s a city in motion, constantly reinventing itself. Here, past merges with future in a fizzy present.
